## 1. What it is

Test Perspective for Confluence is a manual test management app that runs inside Confluence Cloud.
Instead of moving test cases into a separate testing tool, teams insert the Test Case macro on a
Confluence page and manage test cases there, next to the specifications and meeting notes they
already keep in Confluence.

Three things define the product:

1. **No dedicated test management tool required.** Test cases live on Confluence pages. There is no
   second system to buy, administer, or migrate data into, and no separate set of user accounts.
2. **Confluence only.** The app is an Atlassian Forge app for Confluence Cloud. A Confluence Cloud
   site is the only prerequisite.
3. **Jira is not required.** Unlike test management apps built on Jira issues, Test Perspective does
   not need a Jira license, a Jira project, or Jira issue types. Teams that use Confluence without
   Jira can adopt it as-is.

## 3. Capabilities

Test case authoring
- Insert the Test Case macro on any Confluence page and write test cases as naturally as taking
  notes; the table edits like a spreadsheet, including copy and paste.
- Per-space custom columns: define the columns your team needs (priority, environment, owner, and
  so on) so the test sheet fits the workflow rather than the reverse.
- Column visibility can be toggled from the column settings screen.
- A summary macro aggregates test results, and supports nesting.

Test execution and evidence
- Run manual tests and record Pass / Fail results; when copying a test sheet, `Pass` can optionally
  be replaced with `Skip` for the next round of testing.
- Attach images and videos as evidence directly on the test case, with in-place image editing.
- Completed status and execution statistics are displayed for progress tracking.
- Column totals (sum, average, and more) can be shown at the bottom of list columns.

Import, export, and reporting
- CSV import of existing test cases, for teams moving from spreadsheets.
- Export test sheets and test case lists to Excel or CSV, and print reports.
- Test tables are included when exporting a Confluence page to Word.

**Does Test Perspective for Confluence require Jira?**
No. It is a Confluence Cloud app built on Atlassian Forge. It does not require a Jira license, a
Jira project, or any Jira-based test management app. Confluence Cloud alone is enough.
